The vacancy on the Eastern Pulaski School Board may be filled as soon as Monday. Five people expressed interest in the Van Buren Township seat recently vacated by Terri Johnston, according to Superintendent Dan Foster.
He says board members narrowed that number down to three, during an executive session Tuesday. “We are actually forming a committee that will look into these three applicants and then make a recommendation back to the board,” Foster explains.
Foster says the plan is to make a recommendation to the full board during its regular meeting on Monday. “We’re moving pretty quickly, but as state law indicates, we only have 30 days to do that,” he says. “So we’ve got to keep the process moving.”
The board’s appointment will be one of two new additions to the Eastern Pulaski School Board in the near future. Aaron Campbell was elected Tuesday as the school board’s next Indian Creek Township representative.
Meanwhile, Franklin Township representative Tim Rausch and Harrison Township representative Joe Cunningham were both reelected.
