Hamlet’s elected officials will get a three-percent pay raise in 2019. Under the salary ordinance approved by the town council Wednesday, the clerk-treasurer’s annual pay will go up to almost $33,200, while council members will get just under $186 per month.
The deputy clerk and part-time employees in all departments are expected to make $14.12 an hour. Council members plan to set pay rates for the rest of the town employees, after they finalize the list of appointments for 2019 in January.
Also during Wednesday’s meeting, the town council approved Hamlet’s 2019 water budget at just under $118,000 and a sewer budget of almost $233,000.
