Knox Elementary School staff members will soon get new Apple computers. The school board Tuesday approved the purchase of 50 computers, for a total cost of almost $65,000.
Director of Technology Jim Landrum said the computers will go to elementary school staff members, as part of the normal replacement cycle. Their current computers will then be re-purposed for students to use in the classrooms, replacing the white MacBooks that are over eight years old. Landrum was concerned those old MacBooks would no longer be able to meet the state’s recommended specifications for online testing.
