Culver Parks Department Collaborates with Farmers’ Market and Visitor Center to Host ‘Snow Days’

Over the next three months, community members can look forward to ‘Snow Days’ in the Town of Culver.

Culver Park Superintendent Amber Cowell discussed this collaborative effort with the Farmers’ Market and the Culver and Lake Maxinkuckee Visitor Center when town council members met last Thursday.

She informed them, “We’re starting the ‘Snow Days’ on behalf of the Visitor’s Center, myself and Shelly Schrimsher. It’s kind of a programming opportunity for everybody to just come out and support the indoor farmers’ market.

The Culver indoor farmers’ market is hosted in the Culver Beach Lodge on the first and third Saturday during the colder months. Cowell noted that ‘Snow Days’ will be held in conjunction with the farmers’ market on the third Saturday of the month in January, February and March.

She said the kick-off event will be held on Saturday, January 19th. {

Cowell explained, “We’ll have Silly Safaris there with their winter animal show, winter bingo and everything so stay tuned!”

The event will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. ET. In addition to what Cowell already mentioned, the inaugural ‘Snow Days’ will also feature fire pits and s’mores, a selfie station, a scavenger hunt, kid’s crafts and park games.
