The Eastern Pulaski School Board has decided to continue using the services of attorney Tim Murray on an as-needed basis. He was officially reappointed as board attorney Monday.
Murray had presented members with a more extensive list of specified services for a cost of $2,000 per month. But as Superintendent Dan Foster noted Monday, school officials hadn’t budgeted for that. “So I did go back with him and kind of talk through things,” Foster said. “The agreement would be to continue as 2019 what we’ve been doing, which is the as-needed basis and that he would only bill us when necessity arises, that we can’t use [the Indiana School Boards Association] or, in the case of our other situation, it is an insurance issue, so the attorneys there have picked it up.”
Foster’s recommendation to once again appoint Murray on an as-needed basis was approved unanimously. Foster said that will give board members a chance to figure out which specific legal services they want, work with Murray to create a scaled-back list, and find a way to work the fee into the budget.
