Winamac is now among the local communities to have issued a freeze warning. The town has begun to experience frozen water and sewer lines, according to officials in the water and sewer departments. They recommend that all water and sewer customers let their water run in a small stream from a cold water faucet.
Even when temperatures rise above freezing, customers should continue to let their water run, until the town announces a stop to the freeze warning, since water and sewer lines may still be at risk. Anyone with questions is asked to call the Winamac Town Office at 574-946-3451.
Similar freeze warnings are in effect in Knox, North Judson, and Hamlet.
