The digital message board in the City of Knox now has a business spotlight feature. The specifics behind the initiative may be covered in greater detail during tonight’s City Council meeting.
Clerk-treasurer Jeff Houston and Mayor Dennis Estok will deliver their bi-monthly reports. Though nothing specific is listed on the tentative agenda, Mayor Estok previously reported that he will update the council about the city attorney’s position at tonight’s meeting.
Additionally, the city’s representative for the Kankakee Iroquois Planning Commission, Councilman Jeff Berg, recently shared that Knox was awarded the $700,000 Community Development Block Grant that was applied for back in November.
As a reminder, city officials applied for these funds through OCRA’s Wastewater/Drinking Water Program to help offset the cost of needed upgrades at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
There is a chance that the grant award and future project plans may be discussed more when the council meets tonight at 7 p.m. in Knox City Hall.
