The Town of Winamac is looking for a new park board member. Courtney Poor is stepping down, after serving as the board’s president since its inception in 2016.
During Poor’s final meeting last week, board member Chris Schramm thanked him for his years of service. “We started off a couple years ago, Courtney, with you, and I appreciate all your time, your effort, especially your time because a lot of times, you were doing stuff when the rest of us didn’t have time to,” Schramm said. “We’re going to miss you.” Schramm added that Poor was instrumental in getting the park board up and running.
The Winamac Town Council is expected to appoint a replacement next Monday. Council members are expected to choose a Democrat, to maintain the board’s political balance.
