Culver-Union Township Ambulance Struck While Checking on SR 17 Slide-Off Incident

No injuries were reported in the incident that caused a traffic stand still on State Road 17 shortly before 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 10^th.

According to the Marshall County Dispatch Center, an initial call came in about a slide off near the curve on State Road 17, a few miles north of the SR 8 intersection.

Dispatch reports that an ambulance from the Culver-Union Township EMS was enroute to another call when the EMS driver stopped briefly to see if any assistance was needed in the slide-off incident. At that time, a passing vehicle apparently struck the ambulance.

The Marshall County Dispatch Center shared that many calls came in throughout the day. However, as of 6 p.m. ET Sunday night, no major injuries had been reported as a result of any of the incidents.

The Dispatcher on duty noted that US 31 is especially slick and they received multiple reports of slide-offs on that road, specifically in the Argos area.

When road conditions are snowy and icy, drivers are reminded to eliminate all distractions and to be especially cautious while traveling.
