The deadline to apply for the Knox Police Department’s Women’s Self Defense Class is coming up fast. If you’re interested in attending, the last day to RSVP is Saturday, February 9th.
Knox PD is hosting this class in order to assist local ladies who would like to gain some basic tactical training skills to defend themselves. During the course, participants will learn effective ways to evade and counter attacks.
The class is open to women of all athletic abilities. Participants are required to be at least 10-years-old to attend and girls under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The class is scheduled for Saturday, February 16th and will be held in the Knox High School Gymnasium. It will begin at 9 a.m., following registration. Individuals are asked to enter through door number 5, near the east parking lot.
On the day of the event, attendees are encouraged to bring a hydration source and to wear comfortable clothing that will allow them to move freely.
If you have any questions or if you’d like to sign up before the February 9th deadline, contact Knox Police Chief Harold Smith by emailing kpd442@cityofknox.net or calling 574-772-7542.
