A Michigan City man has been arrested in connection with the death of his father. LaPorte County Police say Larry Wozniak died at a home in rural Springfield Township on January 24. A week later, family members reportedly contacted the LaPorte County Drug Task Force saying that he died under suspicious circumstances.
As detectives investigated the possibility that Wozniak’s death was drug-related, they say they identified his 26-year-old son Joshua J. Wozniak as having a direct role and formally interviewed him. Police say probable cause was found last week in LaPorte Superior Court I for Joshua Wozniak’s arrest. He’s accused of the Level 1 felony of dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death. Wozniak was already in custody for unrelated charges, according to officers.
LaPorte County Police continue to investigate, and anyone with information about the death of Larry Wozniak is asked to call LaPorte County Drug Task Force Commander Sergeant Andy Hynek at 219-874-3221, ext. 1059.
