Winamac Town Council members received an update on the town’s Water Project when they met on Monday.
Midwest Engineers CEO Mark Sullivan provided members with some figures related to recent efforts on the water project.
Sullivan presented them with a packet of information which included a pay application for KDM services. The money owed was for construction work done on the new production wells and well houses.
According to the figures provided, $55,540.80 was due to KDM Services and $6,171.20 was due to the retainage account. Setting a certain amount of money aside for retainage is a requirement for municipal projects.
Sullivan told members where the KDM’s portion of the project stands, factoring in this most recent payment.
He explained, “The total contract, initially, was $625,000 and to date we’ve completed $217,000, so a little less than half.”
Sullivan also presented members with a pay application to H&G Underground for construction work done on a raw water transmission main. The figures showed that $111,828.79 was due to the company and $6,753.21 was due to the retainage account.
He provided members with information about how much of H&G Underground’s contract has been completed so far.
Sullivan said, “Their completed and stored to date is $391,827.40 and their total contract is $681,555 so 391 divided by 681 would be their percent complete, so 60-70 percent, somewhere in there.”
Members unanimously approved the pay applications for both KDM Services and H&G Underground.
Additional information that was provided during the Winamac Water Project update will be featured on the Kankakee Valley Viewpoints program this Sunday at noon on K99.3 WKVI.
