Knox City Council members took a major step to move the Wastewater Treatment Plant project forward when they met Tuesday evening.
The grant administrator agreement with the Kankakee Iroquois Regional Planning Commission (KIRPC) was presented for consideration along with the contract from the engineering firm Jones, Petrie and Rafinski (JPR).
KIRPC Grant Administrator Shawn Cain reminded council members that the grant was worth $700,000 and it was administered by the Office of Community and Rural Affairs for the upgrades needed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
She noted that KIRPC’s fee is $41,000 and explained that it was budgeted for in the grant amount.
Members approved both documents unanimously.
