Oregon-Davis Elementary School is holding its kindergarten roundup next week. Families with kids who’ll be five years old on or before August 1 are invited to stop by and register on Tuesday, March 12 between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. CDT.
Principal William Bennett says the registration process should take about 10 to 15 minutes. “The first part of the evening, parents will have an opportunity to just give us some information about their children, where they live, age, all that good stuff,” he explains. “We’ll look at their birth certificates and collect their immunization records that evening.”
Then from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., the kindergarten teachers will give a presentation. “They’ll talk about what to expect, some things that we’re hoping that they have before they come to kindergarten, as well as they’re going to be doing an arts and craft activity, surrounding around Dr. Seuss,” Bennett says.
Parents with children who aren’t quite old enough for kindergarten yet can register for preschool during next Tuesday’s roundup event.
Those who can’t make it Tuesday can make an appointment for another time by calling Oregon-Davis Elementary School at 574-867-2711. Parents are reminded to bring their child’s birth certificate and immunization records when registering.
