An expansion of Norton Packaging’s facility east of Hamlet could create 20 new jobs. Ron Gifford with the Starke County Economic Development Foundation recently gave an update to the Hamlet Town Council.
“They’re going to be adding another 40,000 square feet to that facility and also doing some remodeling of the interior offices, which if you’ve been in there, it’s certainly something that needs to be done,” Gifford said. “That will result in the hiring of an additional 20 employees.”
Gifford said that if everything goes well with the company’s financing, construction should start around June 1 and be finished by the end of the year.
