Oregon-Davis students will be able to take some field trips, thanks to some help from the local community. A number of field trips were discussed during last week’s school board meeting, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.
“On May the 15th, our third graders will be going to Fair Oaks Farms,” he explains. “Farm Bureau helped with a donation to allow our third graders to go there. We also will be having an agricultural class going to the Hoosier Shrimp Farm, and that’s going to be sometime in May.” Meanwhile, Harman says the Starke County Community Foundation is sponsoring a first- and second-grade field trip to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum next month, while art students will be visiting the Art Institute of Chicago.
Harman also took time during last week’s board meeting to recognize this year’s valedictorian, Kennedy Ash, and salutatorian Tyler Ailes.
