The Oregon-Davis School Corporation is offering two modular buildings to anyone who’d be willing to remove them from the school’s campus. The school board officially declared the structures surplus Monday, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.
He says they’re sitting behind the elementary school and haven’t been used for instructional purposes for several years. “Right now, we just use one to store custodial supplies in them, but they’re really no use for us,” Harman explains. “And as we are attempting and looking at redesigning our playground at the elementary, it would be very nice to have those removed.”
Harman says the modular buildings were installed in the early 2000s. He says they don’t have bathrooms, but they have electric and the capability for heat.
School officials are hoping to have them removed from campus at no charge. “The bottom line is I do not want to pay anyone to remove them,” Harman explains. “If someone wants to take them and show liability insurance that they can come on-campus and remove them, then I will go through the proper chain of contacts and make sure everything is okay legal-wise and insurance-wise, and they can be removed.”
