Update: Tonight’s Starke County Park Board meeting has been canceled, according to the County Auditor’s Office. Board President Richard Ballard has rescheduled the meeting for Tuesday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m.
At the end of the park board’s last meeting, there were a couple of issues related to the Bass Lake Beach and Campground left to be resolved.
Board members wanted time to research whether the board had previously decided that electrical work at the campground would qualify as a capital improvement. That would mean the $3,800 cost would be covered by the county as a deduction in the lessee’s rent payment.
The park board also directed the facility’s manager to get quotes for what it would cost to have an engineer analyze the Beach House patio. For years, board members have been voicing concerns with the site’s safety, including a loose railing and a lack of support in the concrete structure.
Tonight’s Starke County Park Board meeting starts at 6:00 in Starke County Annex Building No. 1.
