The manager of the Bass Lake Beach is gearing up for the start of the summer season. “We’ll be ready to open, I’m hoping, on Monday,” Larry Clarich told the Starke County Park Board this week. “I’ll open the beach on Monday, as long as I have the restrooms and stuff cleaned up and everything’s operational. So we should be good to go, there.”
Clarich told board members that he’s been busy with preparations. He said about 10 potentially hazardous trees were cut down last weekend. As of Tuesday’s meeting, he still had some sand that he planned to spread across the beach, but he said he’ll leave one large pile for kids to play on.
Additionally, Park Board Member Rik Ritzler thanked Clarich for making temporary repairs to the Beach House patio railing.
