The winner of this year’s H.J. Halleck Community Service Award will be honored at a dinner later this month. Howard Conner has been selected as this year’s recipient by the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber officials say Conner is a lifelong farmer and a former county commissioner and council member. He’s also been a member of the Farm Bureau and Arrowhead Country Resource Conservation and Development for more than 50 years.
Conner has also been involved with 4-H, the Fair Board, the Pulaski County Human Services Transportation Advisory Council, and the Soil and Water Conservation District, among other organizations. He’s a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Church in Winamac and a former Kiwanis Club member.
Conner will be honored during the Halleck Award Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, May 22 at 6:00 p.m. at Moss Creek Golf Club. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple.
