Pulaski County has started to see some interest from health insurance companies. As of last week’s county commissioners meeting, Auditor Laura Wheeler said about four companies had contacted her with questions, but none had sent an official proposal yet. Those are due by June 7.
Wheeler suggested that when the commissioners meet next week, they appoint a committee to compare the various proposals. Some county officials believe changing insurance could lead to significant cost savings, but it could also mean big changes in coverage, depending on specifications.
In other business last week, the commissioners appointed Gretchen Shidler as an alternate member of the Pulaski County Board of Zoning Appeals.
