The Winamac Town Council agreed to help pay for a necessary inspection on the Town’s footbridge when members met Monday night.
Town Manager Brad Zellers shared that the estimated cost for the bridge inspection is going to be around $6,500.
He noted that the Park Board is able to utilize $3,000 from their Bridge Repair fund but they need some assistance covering the remainder of the cost. He asked the council for permission to take $3,500 out of the Rainy Day Fund for that purpose.
Councilman Alvin Parish asked if there was enough money in that account for the remainder of inspection cost. Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger noted that that there are enough funds.
With that confirmation, Town Council members voted unanimously to approve Zeller’s request.
