The Eastern Pulaski School Board Monday approved upgrades to the schools’ security camera system. According to information presented to board members, the current system doesn’t have capacity for any more cameras. It also only allows five people to use the system at a time, which could become a safety issue if police need to view the live feed.
The upgrades include the addition of a second camera server and licensing for an unlimited number of cameras and users. The new server will let the school corporation archive videos for at least 30 days.
Superintendent Dan Foster says the school board agreed to support the full project. School officials decided to stick with Presidio, the vendor they’ve used in the past. Foster says that allowed Eastern Pulaski to receive credits for some of the existing licenses that are being replaced. The final cost to the school corporation ended up being over $16,000.
