The Oregon-Davis School Board is expected to take action on recommended administrative changes at the Jr./Sr. High when members meet tonight.
At a public meeting back in June, Superintendent Dr. Don Harman presented an administrative restructuring proposal in which he would maintain his superintendent’s duties but take over as high school principal as well.
The proposal also included that Ag Teacher Andrew Carlin would become assistant principal and newly-hired math teacher Jerry Miller would serve as athletic director.
At that time, Dr. Harman noted that the driving force behind the proposal is lowering costs as this would reduce expenditures by over $100,000.
When the proposal was presented, members did not come to a consensus about it. Some voiced concerns while others seemed more open to the idea.
When the board meets tonight, they will also consider recommendations for the food bids, student lunch prices, instructional fees and the wellness policy for the 2019-2020 school year.
Additionally, a budget calendar for 2020 will be presented and Jump Start staffing, a transfer student limit and the continued employment of a Student Resource Officer will be addressed.Â
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Jr./Sr. High Cafeteria.
