Local fire department units were called to a house in the Bass Lake area Sunday morning after it was reportedly struck by lightning.
Starke County Dispatch officials report that a resident called 911 around 6:45 a.m. on August 18th, stating that his house had been struck by lightning and that there was smoke coming from the home.
The Bass Lake Fire Department and Washington Township Fire Department responded to the scene. As a safety precaution, Kankakee Valley REMC was called and asked to shut the power down.
No injuries were reported.
