Knox officials discussed the Blight Elimination Program during the first city council meeting of the month.
Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston noted that the city has received the last $8,000 through the Blight Elimination Grant and noted that the program would be closed out soon.
Mayor Dennis Estok added that city officials are looking into selling the properties that were cleared through the Blight Elimination Program. He noted that the lots are on Main, Water and John Streets and that the sales would have to be done through the Board of Works.
Estok said some neighboring property owners have expressed an interest in the lots so currently, officials are seeing what steps would have to be taken to give them the opportunity to purchase the properties.
