A woman has been arrested, after LaPorte County Police responded to an alleged stabbing early Monday. Around 2:20 a.m., sheriff’s deputies got a report of a man bleeding at the Marathon gas station at U.S. 20 and State Road 39.
When they arrived, officers say they quickly determined that the man had been stabbed, resulting in upper body injuries. He was later taken to the hospital by LaPorte County EMS.
The Criminal Investigations Division began working, and police say the investigation led patrol deputies to a home in the Woodberry Mobile Home Park on West County Road 650 North. There, Shannon N. King, 37, was reportedly taken into custody.
The Sheriff’s Department says probable cause has been presented for a Level 3 felony count of aggravated battery, a Level 5 felony count of battery by means of a deadly weapon, and a Level 5 felony count of battery resulting in serious bodily injury. The incident remains under investigation.
