To help control the cat population within the City of Knox, the ‘Neuter Scooter’ will be in the area on Saturday, August 10th.
According to a press release issued by the Mayor’s Office, Neuter Scooter is a low-cost spaying and neutering mobile clinic for cats only, offered through Public Vet.
Registration for the clinic must be completed online by visiting NeuterScooter.com.
The cost for each domesticated cat is $60. If you bring in a feral or wild cat, the cost will be reduced to $30. However, Neuter Scooter staff members must confirm the cat is indeed feral and not just an outside cat.
Other services, such as rabies vaccinations, flea and ear mite treatment and deworming are offered for an additional fee.
Due to people attempting to misuse the service in the past, the location and time of your appointment will not be shared until the registration is complete.
In addition to that information, owners will be provided with pre-surgery and transporting instructions.
The non-profit corporation Public Vet is dedicated to stopping animal suffering and neglect by promoting responsible animal welfare practices, promoting healthy animal companionships and assisting communities with well-managed cat populations.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the registration process, contact the Knox Mayor’s office at 574-772-4553.
