The Pulaski County Council is meeting one more time with its fiscal planning consultant before officially getting to work on the 2020 budget today. Consultant Jeffrey Peters is scheduled to give council members an update on his findings this morning at 8:00 EDT in the Pulaski County Highway Garage.
Peters previously projected that the county will see a $2.7 million deficit in the coming years, if no action is taken. During this month’s regular council meeting, Council Member Ken Boswell said Peters will go over his analysis of recent years’ budgets and discuss some anomalies council members should look at. This morning’s meeting will also be a chance for the public to ask questions to Peters directly.
After meeting with Peters, the county council will spend two full days discussing budget requests with each county department.
