Two of Knox Schools’ athletic facilities will soon be getting roof repairs.
Last week, the school board approved a bid for just over $15,000 from Wolf Commercial Roofing for work at the varsity press box and middle school concession stand. Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart said Wolf’s bid was the lower of the two that were received. “We have leaks in both areas, and this has been recommended by our maintenance staff to improve,” he said. “And we have bond money left over from our previous $5 million bond issue that this money would be used for that purpose.”
Reichhart said the work will also improve the safety of the middle school concession stand. “They’re going to put some slide-proof, slick-proof, whatever you want to call that surface, so that people who are up there filming or taping, that it will be safe for them to stand on, as well.”
In other business last week, the Knox School Board finalized a slight wording adjustment to the Teacher Appreciation Grant distribution policy. Board members also approved a pair of out-of-state field trips for the middle school that were inadvertently left off of their last meeting’s agenda.
