Two people were arrested on suspicion of dealing meth, after a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon in LaPorte County. Sheriff’s deputies say they saw a red Dodge Charger heading west on the Toll Road commit a pair of traffic infractions.
Several minutes later, another deputy reportedly saw the same car commit another infraction on U.S. 20. Officers say they pulled over the car in a parking lot at U.S. 20 and State Road 39 and eventually found illegal drugs and paraphernalia.
The driver, Shane W. Evans, 23, of Wanatah, and the passenger, Daniel Land, 46, of LaPorte, were both arrested for allegedly dealing in methamphetamine, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of paraphernalia. Evans is also accused of having marijuana.
