The City of Knox is once again partnering with the SCILL Center to provide some fall-time lawn care to elderly citizens and physically disabled residents for which they will give away a vast quantity of walking sticks.
At Tuesday night’s Knox City Council meeting, Mayor Dennis Estok issued a reminder about this annual opportunity where individuals in need of assistance can have their lawns cleared of leaves by SCILL Center students.
Mayor Estok mentioned that they are only able to accommodate 15 residences and the service is provided on a first come, first served basis.
Interested and eligible individuals must contact the Mayor’s Office by Tuesday, November 12th in order to be put on the list. Once 15 people call in to request assistance, no more names will be taken down.
No date has been set for the students to begin. However, the Mayor’s Office will contact residents once that information is available.
