The Constellation of Starke Inter-Local Agreement was considered by the Knox City Council when members met on Tuesday.
Mayor Dennis Estok informed members that having an agreement like this is a requirement for the Regional Stellar Communities program. It was noted that the agreement was written by County Attorney Marty Lucas.
The City officials took a moment to review the document. No comments were made by the city council, however, Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston provided a piece of feedback.
He mentioned that he likes how the agreement specifically spells out all the responsibilities and rights and explains who will be appointed to the Executive Committee and Rapid Response Team.
He explained, “I think the more things are reduced to writing, the more you avoid misunderstandings.”
The agreement received unanimous approval from all members in attendance.
