Knox Clerk-Treasurer Goes After Equipment Grant for Fire Department

Knox Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston informed City Council members last week that he applied for a grant that will assist the Knox-Center Township Fire Department.

Houston explained that the grant itself is worth $14,400 and it will require a $3,600 match. The match money will come out of the Fire Department’s equipment budget.

Clerk-Treasurer Houston said the grant funds will be used to purchase thermal imaging cameras to utilize during fire events. He noted that the grant is being through the Indiana Public Employees Plan (IPEP).

Houston said they should find out if the grant has been received in December.
