The Knox Community School Corporation’s 2020 budget was adopted by the school board Monday. Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart says the board approved the budget without any public comment.
It totals just over $20.4 million. More than $11.6 million of that will be the Education Fund, which is where teacher salaries are budgeted. Almost $4.5 million is being budgeted in the Operations Fund. Corporation Treasurer Kasey Clark previously told board members that certain figures are estimated high, with the expectation that the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance will cut them. She expects that in the end, the 2020 budget will be pretty close to this year’s.
Knox Schools’ capital projects plan calls for paving work at the track and parking lots, boiler upgrades at the middle school, and a new pole barn for storage. The 2020-through-2024 bus replacement plan indicates that two buses will be replaced most years.
