Oregon-Davis School Board Accepts Donations for Athletic Programs

Oregon-Davis sports teams are getting a boost thanks to the generosity of the local community. More than $1,500 in donations was accepted by the school board Monday, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

Over $1,000 of that is going to the volleyball program, with donations from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Kurt and Dawn Hayes, VFW Post #748, Lee Nagai Farms, and a donation from Maggie Vogel in memory of Linda Keller. The board also accepted a $200 soccer scholarship from Kurt and Dawn Hayes and an anonymous donation of shirts for the girls golf team.

Additionally, the University of Notre Dame donated an athletic field liner to the O-D Athletic Department, and the Cheryl Lyn Welter Family Charitable Foundation awarded $350 to the school’s fishing club. Harman says school officials greatly appreciate all of those donations.
