BraunAbility officially cut the ribbon on its new Carmel headquarters this week. On Tuesday, company executives joined Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard and Indiana Economic Development Corporation President Elaine Bedel to celebrate the grand opening of the 18,000-square-foot facility.
The move is expected to create up to 68 new jobs, with 25 of those new employees already having been hired, according to an IEDC press release. BraunAbility also plans to begin construction on a new 20,000-square-foot research and development and technology center in Carmel next year. Manufacturing operations will continue in Winamac.
Tuesday’s ribbon cutting came at the beginning of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. To coincide with that, BraunAbility CEO Staci Kroon announced that the company is committing to increase the representation of candidates with disabilities within its workforce. A press release from the company notes that the new facility features a number of accessible design details.
