Winamac Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger recently announced that she was asked to serve as a district director by the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers (ILMCT).
During last week’s Town Council meeting, Berger said she was asked to serve District 1.
That district contains multiple counties including Pulaski, Starke, Marshall, Lake, Porter, La Porte and St. Joseph, as well as Newton, Jasper, Fulton, Benton, White, Cass, Carroll and Howard.
According to their website, the purpose of the ILMCT is to promote the best methods of conducting the affairs of their elected offices, to offer educational information for the grown and advancement of Clerks and Clerk-Treasurers, and to work with State Legislature in enacting laws for the betterment of state and local government.
