The Pulaski County Commissioners have officially given Gary Kruger the highway superintendent’s job.
The commissioners initially considered making Kruger the superintendent when Terry Ruff stepped down on September 1 but ended up appointing him acting superintendent. However, that meant Kruger wasn’t eligible for the superintendent’s pay, according to Auditor Laura Wheeler.
Last week, the commissioners agreed to appoint Kruger as highway superintendent retroactive to September 1. That allows him to receive full superintendent’s pay from the time he took over from Ruff.
