The Culver Community Schools Corporation is getting $50,000 to boost its STEM education efforts. The Indiana Department of Education announced the recipients of the 2019 K-12 STEM Acceleration Grants Friday.
Culver Community Schools Superintendent Karen Shuman says that money will primarily be used to enhance the school corporation’s curriculum. “We started offering STEM this school year, and this allows us to get classroom materials and curriculum for our STEM teachers,” Shuman explains.
Culver Community Schools was one of 34 recipients of this round of STEM Acceleration Grants. The Department of Education notes that the Indiana General Assembly has appropriated money during the 2020 fiscal year for program alignment in the area of science, technology, engineering, and math.
