The contractor for the 2020 Community Crossings projects within the Town of North Judson was selected during the Council’s meeting Monday night.
When bids were opened during the Council’s first meeting of the month a bid totaling $134,015 from Town and Country Construction and another worth $168,555 from Rieth-Riley were read into the record and then taken under consideration.
The associated documentation was looked over by Town Superintendent Joe Leszek as well as Fleis and VandenBrink Senior Project Manager Mitch Hansel to ensure that all specifications were accounted for.
When members met Monday, Hansel provided a recommendation to go with the lowest bidder, Town and Country Construction. Town Superintendent Leszek mentioned that the company’s bid came in lower than the original bid estimate.
The council provided unanimous approval to award the contract to Town and Country.
Hansel said the document will now be sent over to representatives from the company for their signature. It will then be submitted to the Indiana Department of Transportation so they can provide the 75 percent match for the Community Crossings projects.
