The Winners of the 2019 Light Up North Judson Outdoor Holiday Decorating Contest were announced during Monday night’s Town Council meeting.
There was a consensus amongst the judges that it was a tough choice this year, as everyone who signed up obviously put a lot of effort into their festive displays.
However, judges determined that this year’s top decorators were Jason and Heather Hittle on West James Street and Ida Fort on Vine Street. Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe and Councilmen James Young and Josh Brown went around to the winners’ homes Tuesday afternoon to provide them with their $125 gift cards.
Honorable mentions for this year’s contest were also identified. Those individuals included Travis and Suzanne Pryor on Sycamore Street and Shannon Paulsen on State Street. While they didn’t receive prizes, the judges felt their decorations were notable and wanted to highlight their efforts.
It was noted during the meeting that there were a lot of homes with great displays that weren’t signed up for the contest so residents are encouraged to keep an eye out for the announcement next year to make sure that they’re in the running.
