Eastern Pulaski school officials are expected to give an update on the school corporation’s finances tonight. Fiscal indicators like enrollment and fund balances will be discussed with the board of finance.
One particular concern for Eastern Pulaski is its operating deficit, which has caused the school corporation to use its Rainy Day Fund to keep the budget balanced.
Tonight’s Eastern Pulaski Board of Finance meeting starts at 5:30 EST in the Eastern Pulaski Conference/Meeting Center, followed by a special school board meeting. Board members will likely continue the financial discussion. They’re expected to consider an additional appropriation of almost $1.2 million for Debt Service. Superintendent Dara Chezem previously explained that it would correct an error with the 2020 budget.
Personnel items and a field trip request round out tonight’s school board agenda. Board members are also scheduled to meet in a closed executive session, following those meetings.
