An agreement to help Starke Hospital continue serving patients in the event of a disaster was approved by the Knox School Board last week. Board members approved a memorandum of understanding allowing Knox Middle School to be used as an alternate care site.
Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart says that while the hospital has had emergency plans in place, he didn’t believe there had been any formal agreement with the school corporation before now.
