Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers consulted with Town Council members about how they’d like to proceed with the cemetery mowing contract for this year when members met on Monday.
He asked if they wanted to split up various spots or bid it all out as one contract. The members felt it should be grouped together as one bid.
Town Council President Tom Murray also told Zellers that the bid specifications need to deliberately state what would be expected from the person who is awarded the contract.
He shared some examples, “Mow, trim, blow off the stones and the footers, spray, whatever needs to be done.”
Councilman Dave Schambers added that the more specific they are, the fairer it is for everyone who is bidding. Zellers agreed and said he would get that contract put together and publish a notification in the paper twice.
Anyone interested in submitting a bid should contact Town Manager Zellers at 574-946-3451.
