A California man is accused of dealing or delivering marijuana, following a traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road Tuesday afternoon. LaPorte County Police say they pulled over an eastbound passenger vehicle for several traffic violations.
During the traffic stop, officers say a K-9 was called to assist, and a large quantity of an illegal drug was found. The driver, Zhaoyao Luo, 31, of Sacramento, was taken to the LaPorte County Jail.
The sheriff’s deputy who made the traffic stop was working the Domestic Highway Enforcement program, an effort aimed at disrupting the flow of drugs and weapons. It’s one of the programs put in place as part of LaPorte County’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area designation.
