LaPorte County Police Arrest Man on Suspicion of Child Molesting

A man has been charged with multiple counts of child molesting, following an investigation in LaPorte County. Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to a home in rural Noble Township on February 7, regarding an unwanted guest. When the deputy got there, he was told that a sex offense had just occurred. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division began assisting.

An arrest warrant was issued for David Powers II, 48, on Thursday, and members of the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team arrested him later that night. He’s charged with two counts of child molesting as a Level 1 felony and two counts of child molesting as a Level 4 felony.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources officers, the Dunebrook Child Advocacy Center, and the Indiana Department of Child Services helped with the investigation.
