Members Appointed to Pulaski Board of Aviation Commissioners, PTABOA, CDC

Pulaski County officials continue filling vacancies on various boards and commissions. Last week, the county commissioners appointed Jack Olds and Bob Eber to the board of aviation commissioners. Rita Carpenter was appointed to the property tax assessment board of appeals, while Dave Schambers was reappointed.

Meanwhile, the Community Development Commission recently appointed Brian Ledley as an at-large member, according to Executive Director Nathan Origer. “He is the communications director at the hospital,” Origer told the county commissioners last week. “Gregg Malott’s going off at six years, and we kind of like having the hospital on there as one of our largest employers, as a county hospital, healthcare.”

Origer explained that Ledley’s appointment didn’t require the county commissioners’ approval, but they now have the option to veto it. “With some of the issues we had last year, the CDC discussed some changes to our bylaws that we thought we could try to give the county a little more accountability in it,” he said.

The commissioners voiced no objection to Ledley’s appointment. Origer said the CDC expects to have another appointment for the commissioners’ review next month.
