The Oregon-Davis School Corporation is working to address students’ social and emotional health. The school board Monday approved an agreement with the Bowen Center to launch a Student Assistance Program, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.
“All of our students here, if qualified, could get up to two free counseling sessions,” Harman says, “and Bowen Center will be meeting with our teachers to explain the program.”
Harman says that while Oregon-Davis has had a partnership with the Bowen Center for a few years, this will be a new program for the school corporation. It will cost O-D $1,200 per school year, but Harman says that will be funded through a grant. He adds that if there are any unused counseling sessions at the end of the school year, that money can be carried over to the next year.
