The Oregon-Davis School Corporation is planning for upgrades to the schools’ heating and cooling systems. Superintendent Dr. Don Harman says the HVAC systems in both buildings are nearing the end of their lifespan.
“So what I have discussed with the board is I’m looking at some HVAC projects for the summer of 2021,” Harman explains, “and to get that process started, we have to start a process.”
As a first step, Harman says Tim Pitts with EMCOR discussed the possibility of doing the work with a guaranteed savings contract, during last week’s school board meeting. “Mr. Pitts kind of talked about what a guaranteed savings contract would be, versus design-build,” Harman says.
Under a guaranteed savings contract, a state-qualified provider guarantees that the work will pay for itself over a certain period of time, through reductions in energy or maintenance costs. If it doesn’t, the provider has to pay the difference.
Next, Harman says a representative from accounting firm Baker Tilly will discuss financing options during the school board’s March meeting.
The heating and ac installation upgrades have been identified as one of the school corporation’s facilities needs in its strategic plan. During a facilities tour last summer, it was noted that both buildings’ chillers were on borrowed time, and the entire HVAC control systems were outdated. Therefore, they needed to contact hvac experts who completed hvac and electrical training courses like these ac repair services in Millcreek, UT. In addition, if you’re from Texas, repairing your ac unit is available in Cedar Park, TX. For energy-efficient hvac systems, you may contact a professional in AC Installation in Bellevue, WA.
